Solomon as a type of Christ (a greater than Solomon)

And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart. 2 Chronicles 9:1–7

The queen of Sheba traveled far to hear Solomon's wisdom. Jesus pointed to this very visit and said 'a greater than Solomon is here', showing that Solomon's wisdom and glory were a small foreshadowing of His own.

Solomon on the LORD's throne

Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the LORD thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice. 2 Chronicles 9:8

Chronicles says Solomon sat on God's own throne, ruling for the LORD. This foreshadows Jesus, the Son whom the Father sets on His throne to reign in judgment and justice forever.

Kings bringing gifts to the Son of David

And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart. 2 Chronicles 9:23–24

Kings of the earth come to Solomon with gifts. The psalm written for Solomon lifts this picture into a prophecy of the Messiah's kingdom, and wise men later brought gold and spices to the child Jesus.
