Christ — the Anointed One

Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men; 2 Corinthians 9:13

The Corinthians' generosity shows that they have truly submitted themselves to the gospel of Christ. Giving to the poor is one way disciples live His gospel.

How we know: the verse itself names Him

God's Unspeakable Gift

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. 2 Corinthians 9:15

Many Christians read God's gift that is too great for words as the gift of His Son, the pattern behind all the giving Paul has described. The verse could also mean the grace just mentioned, so this is a softer reading.
