David as a type of Christ
And he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left. 2 Samuel 16:6–12
The rightful king, driven out of Jerusalem by his own people, is cursed and pelted with stones, yet he stops his follower from striking back and trusts the LORD to make it right. Jesus did the same: when He was reviled He did not revile back, and He stopped Peter's sword.
