Jehovah — the covenant God of Israel, the premortal Christ
But behold, the Nephites were not slow to remember the Lord their God in this their time of affliction. They could not be taken in their snares; yea, they would not partake of their wine, save they had first given to some of the Lamanite prisoners. Alma 55:31
In the Book of Mormon, 'the Lord their God' is Jehovah, the God of Israel, whom Latter-day Saints know as the premortal Jesus Christ. Remembering Him in trouble kept the Nephites out of their enemies' snares.
