Faith in Christ
Now it came to pass that when I, Helaman, had heard these words of Gid, I was filled with exceeding joy because of the goodness of God in preserving us, that we might not all perish; yea, and I trust that the souls of them who have been slain have entered into the rest of their God. Alma 57:36
Entering 'the rest of God' is Book of Mormon language for being received into His presence and peace. Alma taught that people enter that rest by looking forward to the Son of God for forgiveness of their sins, so Helaman's hope for the fallen soldiers rests on Christ.
