Amos 4

Jehovah

LORD (Jehovah) — the eternal I AM, the covenant God of Israel

And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. Amos 4:6–11

Five times the LORD lists what He allowed to happen so Israel would come back, and five times He says they did not return 'unto me.' Latter-day Saints understand this pleading voice as Jehovah, the premortal Jesus Christ, who still invites His people to return to Him.

The LORD, the God of hosts — Jehovah, Lord of the armies of heaven

Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel. Amos 4:12–13

The God Israel must prepare to meet is named as the One who formed the mountains and created the wind: the LORD God of hosts. Restoration scripture teaches that Jesus Christ, as Jehovah, created the earth under the Father, and the call to 'prepare to meet thy God' echoes Alma's teaching that this life is the time to prepare to meet God.
