Jehovah — the covenant name, rendered LORD; the premortal Christ
Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead. Deuteronomy 14:1–2
The Church's heading reads this verse as Israel being children of the Lord Jehovah, the premortal Christ. Covenant people become His children and are chosen as His own, as King Benjamin's people became the children of Christ.
