Jehovah

Jehovah — the covenant name of God, rendered LORD

And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren. Genesis 29:31–33

Jehovah sees and hears the unloved wife and blesses her with sons. The covenant God notices the overlooked and afflicted, as Christ did throughout His ministry.

Lion of the tribe of Judah

Judah — praise

And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing. Genesis 29:35

Leah names her fourth son Judah, meaning praise. The Savior would be born through Judah’s tribe and later be called the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Hebrews 7:14; Revelation 5:5), so the Messiah’s royal line begins with a mother’s praise.
