Joseph as a type of Christ
And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph’s brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth. Genesis 42:6–8
The brothers who rejected Joseph now bow before him as their lord and depend on him for life, yet they do not recognize him. Jesus came to His own people, who did not know Him, though He knew them.
