Isaiah 56

Jehovah

Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. Isaiah 56:1

Jehovah says His salvation is near and His righteousness is about to be revealed. Latter-day Saints see that salvation revealed in Jesus Christ.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

Take His Name

For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; Isaiah 56:4–5

Those who hold to the Lord's covenant receive a place in His house and an everlasting name that will never be cut off. King Benjamin taught that covenant people take upon them the name of Christ, a name that is never blotted out if they stay true.

Jehovah

Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Isaiah 56:6–7

Jehovah calls the temple 'mine house.' When Jesus cleansed the temple He quoted this verse and called it 'my house,' showing that the temple's Lord had come to it.

Good Shepherd

The Lord GOD, which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him. Isaiah 56:8

The Lord who gathers scattered Israel promises to gather 'others' as well. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, spoke of 'other sheep' He must bring into one fold.
