Preserver of men — the watcher and keeper of mankind
I have sinned; what shall I do unto thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me as a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself? Job 7:20–21
Job cries to the 'preserver of men' and asks why his sin is not pardoned and taken away. The question hangs over the Old Testament until Jesus Christ comes as the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world.
