Joshua 11

Jehovah

And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire. Joshua 11:6–9

Jehovah, the premortal Christ, speaks to Joshua before the battle at the waters of Merom and promises deliverance down to the very hour — and then does exactly what He said. Nephi, recounting this same conquest, calls the Lord who did it Israel's Redeemer.

Joshua as a type of Jesus

Joshua (Yehoshua) — Jehovah saves; the same name as Jesus (Greek Iesous)

So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war. Joshua 11:23

Joshua, whose name is the Hebrew form of 'Jesus', leads God's people into the promised land, gives them their inheritance, and brings rest. Hebrews teaches that this rest was not the final one, so it pointed forward to the rest Jesus gives, and to the eternal inheritance He promises His people.
