Jehovah

Jehovah — the self-existent, covenant God; the premortal Christ

And the LORD’s anger was kindled the same time, and he sware, saying, Numbers 32:10–12

Moses repeats Jehovah's oath in His own words, recalling the covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and His call to be 'wholly followed.' Latter-day Saints know this covenant God as the premortal Jesus Christ.

Joshua as a type of Jesus

Joshua — 'Jehovah is salvation'; the same name as Jesus (Hebrew Yehoshua/Yeshua, Greek Iesous)

Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed the LORD. Numbers 32:12

Joshua's name means 'Jehovah saves,' and in Greek it is the name Jesus. The faithful man who will lead Israel across Jordan into their inheritance is a soft picture of the Savior who leads us home.
