Joshua as a type of Jesus
Joshua — 'Jehovah is salvation'; the same name as Jesus (Hebrew Yehoshua/Yeshua, Greek Iesous)
These are the names of the men which shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun. Numbers 34:17
Joshua, whose name is the Hebrew form of Jesus, is appointed to hand out Israel's inheritance. It is a soft picture of the Savior, through whom we become joint-heirs of all the Father has.
