The God of my salvation

Jehovah — the LORD, the covenant name of the premortal Christ

Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Psalms 25:4–5

David asks the LORD, the God of his salvation, to teach him His paths. Jesus, the premortal Jehovah, later called Himself the way and the truth.

alludes to John 14:6 — I am the way, the truth, and the life.

Pardon for His name's sake

For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. Psalms 25:11

David pleads for forgiveness, not because he deserves it, but for the LORD's name's sake. Forgiveness of great sins comes through the name and Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Redeemer of Israel

Redeemer — the one who buys back and frees

Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles. Psalms 25:22

The psalm ends asking God to redeem Israel. The Redeemer of Israel is Jesus Christ; the disciples on the Emmaus road had hoped He would redeem Israel.

alludes to Luke 24:21 — We trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel.
