Psalms 71

Rock

Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress. Psalms 71:3

God is called a rock and fortress. The rock of our salvation is Jesus Christ.

Resurrection

Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth. Psalms 71:20

To be made alive again and brought up from the depths of the earth hints at resurrection, made possible through Christ.

Holy One of Israel

Holy One of Israel — the holy God who covenanted with Israel

I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel. Psalms 71:22–23

Holy One of Israel is a title of Jesus Christ, and here He is the one who redeemed the singer's soul. The Book of Mormon identifies the Holy One of Israel as the Redeemer.

How we know: the verse itself names Him
