Luke
The verses in Luke that became songs, with the songs they became.
Luke 22:42–44 records the Savior in Gethsemane, praying “not my will, but thine, be done,” and sweating as it were great drops of blood. “Gethsémané pour toi” imagines Him entering that garden already knowing each of us by name, and “I Give My Thanks” answers what He suffered there with simple gratitude.
Luke 22:42–44
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
