Mosiah
The verses in Mosiah that became songs, with the songs they became.
King Benjamin’s witness in Mosiah 3:7 says the Savior would suffer temptations, pain, hunger, thirst and fatigue “even more than man can suffer,” so great that blood would come from every pore. That verse stands behind “Gethsémané pour toi,” a song about the Savior entering the garden knowing each of us.
Mosiah 3:7
And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people.
