Lyrics

Ask how I'm doin' ...like the answer should be small,

Somethin' said in passin', just walking down the hall.

Just say, "I'm good," then let the moment disappear,

With my thoughts bein' louder than I care to hear.

But there's a word I keep repeating when the day falls out of line,

half said as a joke, kinda steadyin' my mind.

Hits like a reminder when the chaos starts to fall,

Brings me back from crazy, to the things that matter most.

I say "GLORIOUS!", livin' life with open eyes,

Yeah, so glorious, feelin' something real inside.

Every step i take carries heaven's name,

Walkin' on the path back to His holy name.

I thought joy was waiting on a better day,

Somewhere past the mess... the weight I couldn't shake.

Felt peace would find me once I had a plan,

Once I fixed the wrong turns, to feel like I could stand.

Joy kept meetin' me right where my feet had been,

In the middle of the mess, right under my skin.

Weakness started pointin' toward where help begins,

Showin' where real strength lives.

I say "GLORIOUS!", just standin' where I am,

Yeah, so glorious, knowin' whose I am.

Every road I'm walkin' keeps coming back the same,

Drawn by the goodness of His holy name.

Weakness was where His grace worked fastest,

Lost moments carried by His hands, the strongest.

Nothin' to prove, nothing to chase,

Just Standin' in the glow of an undeserved grace.

I'm "GLORIOUS!", quiet, butt listen up,

Yeah, glorious, always looking up.

Every breath I breathe carries heaven's name,

Livin' in the overflow of the Great I Am.

Yeah I say "glorious," and now it's finally clear,

I will stand firm when heaven draws me near.

His glory towers higher than my feeble sight,

My walk made steady by His truer light.

So if you ask me how I'm doing,

"Glorious" is what I choose,

This is how my day feels,

'Cause what I know is true.

The Story

This song started as a word I use without thinking. A good buddy of mine, Jim, inspired me with a kind text out of nowhere last year. He called me STG, "Shane the Glorious." I freaking loved that text. So I got to work on this.

If you know me, you have probably heard me answer the question "how are you doing" with "man, I'm doing glorious." It has become a reflex. Jim told me every time he heard that word, he thinks of STG.

So here goes...

When I sat down to write this song, it stopped being a throwaway phrase. I had to ask myself why I say it and whether I actually live it.

Glorious is not about pretending life is easy. It is about knowing where I stand. Knowing who I belong to. Knowing that even on rough days, I am grounded in something bigger than circumstances.

Writing this song forced me to slow down and define the word for myself. Glorious means living inside the knowledge of Christ. It means remembering who I am, where I came from, and where I am going as long as I stay anchored to Him.

The music carries a lighter energy on purpose. Guitar forward. Movement. Joy. This song is meant to be lived out loud. A declaration I try to back up with how I actually show up.

If someone hears this and decides to adopt that word for themselves, that feels like the right outcome. Join the club, and "Be Glorious."
