Former sinners have been cleansed, made holy, and made right with God through the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit.

Our bodies matter to the Lord. God raised Jesus from the dead and, because of that, will raise our bodies too, so we should keep them clean.

Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 1 Corinthians 6:15–17
A disciple's body belongs to Christ as part of His body, and one joined to the Lord becomes one with Him in spirit.

We belong to God because we were purchased at a great price, the blood of Jesus Christ shed in His Atonement. So we should honor God with our bodies and spirits.
