Lamp of David (the Davidic line kept for the Messiah)

Nevertheless for David’s sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem: 1 Kings 15:4–5

Even for a wicked king, Jehovah keeps David's lamp burning so a son of David stays on the throne. He is protecting the royal line through which Jesus Christ, the Son of David, will come.

And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite: 1 Kings 15:29–30

The fall of Jeroboam's house happens exactly as Jehovah said through His prophet. The premortal Christ's word does not fail.
