Good Shepherd

Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace. 2 Chronicles 18:16

Micaiah sees Israel scattered like sheep without a shepherd after their king falls. Jesus later looked on the multitudes with compassion 'as sheep having no shepherd' and offered Himself as their Good Shepherd.

How we know: the verse itself names Him

  • a parallel account in 1 Kings 22:17 — Same vision in the Kings account.
  • alludes to Numbers 27:17 — Moses prays that the congregation be not as sheep which have no shepherd.
  • alluded to by Matthew 9:36 — Jesus moved with compassion because they were as sheep having no shepherd.
  • alluded to by Mark 6:34 — They were as sheep not having a shepherd, and He began to teach them.

Jehovah

LORD (Jehovah) — the covenant name; the premortal Christ

Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left. 2 Chronicles 18:18–22

Micaiah is shown Jehovah enthroned in His heavenly council, ruling over all the host of heaven. The same enthroned Lord that prophets like Lehi saw is the premortal Christ, sovereign even over the schemes of wicked kings.

Jehovah

And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him. 2 Chronicles 18:31

Surrounded and mistaken for Ahab, Jehoshaphat cried out and Jehovah rescued him. Even after a bad alliance, the Lord answered a sincere cry for help.
