Son of David (Davidic covenant)
Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever. 2 Chronicles 21:7
Even under a murderous king, Jehovah will not let David's line go out, because He promised David a lamp forever. That line was kept alive to bring forth Jesus Christ, the Son of David and the Light of the world.
