Jehovah

Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. 2 Chronicles 7:1–3

Jehovah answers Solomon's prayer by sending fire to accept the sacrifices and filling the temple with His glory. The people bow and worship the LORD, the premortal Christ, whose mercy endures forever.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

Jehovah

And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. 2 Chronicles 7:12–16

The LORD, Jehovah, appears to Solomon and answers his prayer word for word, choosing the temple as a house of sacrifice. That house of sacrifice pointed to the Savior's own great offering.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

Called by His name

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Jehovah's covenant people are 'called by my name.' Latter-day Saints take upon themselves the name of Jesus Christ by covenant, and the path He describes here, humility, prayer, seeking His face and turning from sin, is how He forgives and heals.

The everlasting heir of David's throne

And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments; 2 Chronicles 7:17–18

Jehovah renews His covenant that David would always have a man to rule in Israel. Only Jesus, the Son of David who lives forever, fulfills that promise completely.
