Jehovah appears to Solomon

Jehovah — the covenant name, "I AM" / the Eternal One

That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon. 1 Kings 9:2–3

Jehovah, the premortal Jesus Christ, appears to Solomon, says He has heard the dedicatory prayer, and accepts the temple as a house for His name. His eyes and heart stay on His house, as Christ later accepted His latter-day temples.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

Messiah, heir of David's throne

And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments: 1 Kings 9:4–5

Jehovah repeats His promise of a throne established for ever. Solomon's line was conditional and fell, but the everlasting throne of David belongs to Jesus Christ.

Sacrifice as a similitude of the Son

And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the LORD, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the LORD. So he finished the house. 1 Kings 9:25

Offerings at the three yearly feasts kept pointing Israel to the coming sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
