2 Nephi 12

Jehovah

Jehovah — the premortal Christ, God of Israel

And it shall come to pass in the last days, when the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it. 2 Nephi 12:2–3

In the last days nations stream to the house of the Lord, the God of Jacob, to learn His ways. Latter-day Saints see this fulfilled in temples, where people come to learn of Christ.

Millennial Reign

And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plow-shares, and their spears into pruning-hooks—nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 2 Nephi 12:4

The Lord will judge the nations and bring a peace so complete that weapons become farm tools. This points to Christ's reign during the Millennium.

Second Coming

O ye wicked ones, enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for the fear of the Lord and the glory of his majesty shall smite thee. 2 Nephi 12:10–11

At the Lord's coming the wicked try to hide from His glory, and pride is brought low. Only the Lord will be lifted up, a picture of Christ's Second Coming.

Lord of Hosts

Lord of Hosts — Jehovah, commander of the armies of heaven

For the day of the Lord of Hosts soon cometh upon all nations, yea, upon every one; yea, upon the proud and lofty, and upon every one who is lifted up, and he shall be brought low. 2 Nephi 12:12–18

The 'day of the Lord of Hosts' comes on everything proud and high. It is the great day when Christ returns and ends all idol worship.

Second Coming

And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for the fear of the Lord shall come upon them and the glory of his majesty shall smite them, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. 2 Nephi 12:19–21

The Lord rises to shake the earth, and people throw away their idols and run for the caves. The earth shaking at His coming is a sign of the Second Coming.
