3 Nephi 13

Jesus Christ

Verily, verily, I say that I would that ye should do alms unto the poor; but take heed that ye do not your alms before men to be seen of them; otherwise ye have no reward of your Father who is in heaven. 3 Nephi 13:1–8

The risen Savior teaches that giving and praying should be done sincerely for the Father's eyes, not to be seen of men.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. 3 Nephi 13:9–15

Jesus teaches the pattern of prayer to the Father. He Himself perfectly lived "thy will be done," and He teaches us to forgive as we hope to be forgiven.
