3 Nephi 25

Second Coming

For behold, the day cometh that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of Hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 3 Nephi 25:1

The day of the Lord's coming will burn like an oven, consuming pride and wickedness. It is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Son (Sun) of Righteousness

Son of Righteousness — the righteous Son who rises like the dawn; KJV Malachi reads 'Sun'

But unto you that fear my name, shall the Son of Righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth and grow up as calves in the stall. 3 Nephi 25:2

Like the sun rising, Christ comes with healing 'in his wings' — the rays of light, or the corners of His robe. The Book of Mormon spelling 'Son' shows plainly that this is Jesus Christ, who healed the Nephites when He came to them.

Jehovah (Giver of the Law)

Remember ye the law of Moses, my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. 3 Nephi 25:4

The one who commanded the law to Moses at Horeb (Sinai) was Jehovah. Jesus told the Nephites, 'I am he that gave the law,' so the Lawgiver speaking here is Christ.

Second Coming

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord; 3 Nephi 25:5–6

Before the great day of the Lord's coming, Elijah will be sent to turn families' hearts to each other so the earth is prepared to receive Him. Elijah came to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery in the Kirtland Temple, right after the Lord Jesus Christ Himself appeared there.
