Jesus — Jehovah saves

But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive. Acts 25:19

A pagan governor unknowingly sums up the heart of the gospel: Jesus died, and Paul testifies He is alive. The whole case turns on the reality of Christ's Resurrection.

How we know: the verse itself names Him

• alludes to Revelation 1:18 — Christ: 'I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore'.
• alludes to Luke 24:5-6 — Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen.
