Redeemer

Redeemer — one who buys back or frees from bondage by paying the price

And this is the account of Ammon and his brethren, their journeyings in the land of Nephi, their sufferings in the land, their sorrows, and their afflictions, and their incomprehensible joy, and the reception and safety of the brethren in the land of Jershon. And now may the Lord, the Redeemer of all men, bless their souls forever. Alma 28:8

Mormon blesses Ammon's people in the name of 'the Lord, the Redeemer of all men.' Christ is Redeemer of all, not just the Nephites, which fits a record about Lamanites being redeemed.

How we know: the verse itself names Him

• the same title in 1 Nephi 10:5 — Prophets testified of this Messiah, this Redeemer of the world.

Resurrection of Jesus Christ

While many thousands of others truly mourn for the loss of their kindred, yet they rejoice and exult in the hope, and even know, according to the promises of the Lord, that they are raised to dwell at the right hand of God, in a state of never-ending happiness. Alma 28:12

Mourners of the righteous dead rejoice because the Lord promised their loved ones will be raised to dwell at God's right hand. That hope rests on the Lord's promises of resurrection and eternal life through Christ.

Light of the World

And thus we see the great call of diligence of men to labor in the vineyards of the Lord; and thus we see the great reason of sorrow, and also of rejoicing—sorrow because of death and destruction among men, and joy because of the light of Christ unto life. Alma 28:14

Mormon sets death's sorrow against the joy of 'the light of Christ unto life.' Christ is the light that leads to life, the answer to the grief of war.

How we know: the verse itself names Him

• alludes to John 8:12 — I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall have the light of life.
• the same title in Moroni 7:18 — Search diligently in the light of Christ.

Lord of the Vineyard

And thus we see the great call of diligence of men to labor in the vineyards of the Lord; and thus we see the great reason of sorrow, and also of rejoicing—sorrow because of death and destruction among men, and joy because of the light of Christ unto life. Alma 28:14

Mormon calls men to labor diligently in the Lord's vineyards, the missionary field. The image echoes Zenos's allegory, where servants labor alongside the Lord of the vineyard.
