Jehovah

Jehovah (LORD) — the covenant God of the fathers

And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither. Deuteronomy 34:4

Jehovah speaks to Moses on Nebo and confirms that He is the One who swore the land to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The covenant-keeping God of the fathers is the premortal Christ.

The Prophet like unto Moses

And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, Deuteronomy 34:10

Deuteronomy closes by saying no prophet had yet risen like Moses, which leaves Israel still waiting for the Prophet God promised would be like him. Peter, Nephi, and the risen Savior Himself identify that Prophet as Jesus Christ.

The Lord known face to face
