Jesus Christ

Jesus — Jehovah saves; Christ — the Anointed One

And also unto my faithful servants who are of the high council of my church in Zion, for thus it shall be called, and unto all the elders and people of my Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, scattered abroad in all the world; Doctrine and Covenants 115:3–4

The Lord says "my church" and names it after Himself, Jesus Christ. The Saints carry His name as a people, as He taught the Nephites that His Church must be called by His name.

Light of the World

Verily I say unto you all: Arise and shine forth, that thy light may be a standard for the nations; Doctrine and Covenants 115:5–6

The Lord echoes Isaiah's call, "Arise, shine; for thy light is come." The Saints' light is His light held up for the nations, and gathering to Zion is a refuge as He is a refuge from the storm.

How we know: the chapter heading names Him

• alludes to 3 Nephi 18:24 — Hold up your light; I am the light which ye shall hold up.
