Ecclesiastes 12

Creator

Creator - the One who made all things

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; Ecclesiastes 12:1

Latter-day Saints understand that Jesus Christ, as Jehovah under the Father's direction, created the earth. So the call to remember our Creator while young is a call to remember Him early in life.

Good Shepherd

The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd. Ecclesiastes 12:11

True words of wisdom come from 'one shepherd', the single divine source behind all inspired teaching. Scripture elsewhere names that one Shepherd as Jesus Christ, so this is a soft but real echo.

Final Judgment

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Ecclesiastes 12:14

The book ends by teaching that every deed, even secret ones, will be judged. Restored and New Testament scripture teach that the Father has given all judgment to the Son, so the Judge we will stand before is Jesus Christ.
