Ephesians 3

Jesus Christ

For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, Ephesians 3:1

Paul is in prison because of his service to Jesus Christ, and he sees himself as the Lord's prisoner rather than Rome's.

The Mystery of Christ

Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Ephesians 3:4–6

The "mystery" now revealed is that Gentiles share fully in God's promises through Christ, as members of the same body.

The Unsearchable Riches of Christ

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; Ephesians 3:8

Paul feels "less than the least" yet is given the grace to preach the endless riches found in Christ.

Creator of All Things

And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Ephesians 3:9

The Father created all things through Jesus Christ. Latter-day Saints testify that Jehovah, the premortal Christ, was the Creator under the Father's direction.

Christ Dwelling in the Heart

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, Ephesians 3:17

Paul prays that through faith Christ will make His home in the Saints' hearts.

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Ephesians 3:19

Christ Jesus
