Ezekiel 23

Jehovah

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms. Ezekiel 23:35

The whole allegory pictures Israel as a wife who belonged to the LORD (verse 4: 'they were mine') and then left Him. Latter-day Saints understand this covenant Husband, Jehovah, to be the premortal Jesus Christ. Being unfaithful to the covenant means forgetting Him and turning your back on Him.

And they shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD. Ezekiel 23:49

Ezekiel keeps repeating the line 'ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.' Here the covenant God of Israel, Jehovah, says who He is. Latter-day Saints know Jehovah as Christ before His birth. Even His judgments are meant to bring Israel back to knowing Him.
