Ezekiel 30

Second Coming

For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the heathen. Ezekiel 30:3

Here the 'day of the LORD' is Egypt's coming destruction. In the prophets the same phrase also points to the great and dreadful day when the Lord Jesus Christ comes again in glory, and each local 'day of the LORD' previews that final day. This is a soft echo.

Jehovah

And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have set a fire in Egypt, and when all her helpers shall be destroyed. Ezekiel 30:8

Jehovah, the premortal Christ, reveals Himself to Egypt through judgment. Egypt was the proud power Israel kept trusting instead of Him. The same formula comes again in verses 19, 25 and 26.
