Lord of Hosts

Lord of Hosts — Jehovah, commander of the armies of heaven

For thus hath the LORD said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth. Isaiah 21:6–10

Isaiah declares what the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, revealed: Babylon, the symbol of the world, falls. John the Revelator repeats the cry for the fall of spiritual Babylon before Christ's coming.

How we know: the verse itself names Him

Jehovah

Jehovah — the covenant name, rendered LORD; the premortal Jesus Christ

For thus hath the LORD said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail: Isaiah 21:16–17

The prophecy against Kedar rests on the word of the LORD God of Israel, Jehovah.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)
