Isaiah 35

God will come and save you

It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God. Isaiah 35:2–4

Isaiah tells frightened people that their God will come in person to save them. Jehovah fulfilled this by coming to earth as Jesus Christ, and He will fulfill it again when He returns in glory.

The blind see, the lame leap

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Isaiah 35:5–6

When God comes, the blind will see, the deaf hear, the lame leap, and the mute sing. Jesus did exactly these miracles and sent word to John the Baptist that they were proof He was the One. He did the same among the Nephites.

The way of holiness

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. Isaiah 35:8

A holy highway leads the redeemed home to Zion. It softly echoes Christ as the way back to God and the strait path He marks out.

The redeemed and ransomed of the LORD

No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: Isaiah 35:9–10

The people who walk this road are 'redeemed' and 'ransomed', meaning bought back at a price. Christ is the Redeemer who paid that price through His Atonement, and He brings the ransomed home to Zion with everlasting joy.
