Jehovah, the God of David

Jehovah — the covenant name, 'I AM', the Eternal One

Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. Isaiah 38:5–6

Jehovah, the premortal Christ, speaks personally to a dying king: He has heard the prayer and seen the tears, and He grants more life.

Delivered from the pit; sins cast behind His back

Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. Isaiah 38:17

Hezekiah praises the Lord for lovingly saving his soul from the pit and putting his sins out of sight. This echoes what Christ does for all through His Atonement and Resurrection: He saves from death and remembers sins no more.
