Jesus — Jehovah saves; Christ — the Anointed One

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. James 2:1

James calls the Saints' faith 'the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ'; true faith in Him cannot coexist with looking down on the poor.

Lord of Glory

Lord of glory — the Lord to whom all glory belongs

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. James 2:1

James gives Jesus the title 'the Lord of glory', the same title Paul uses for the Savior who was crucified. It declares that the humble Jesus is the glorious Lord.

Taking His Name

Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called? James 2:7

The 'worthy name' by which the believers are called is the name of Christ; the rich who oppress them blaspheme the very name the Saints have taken upon themselves.

Isaac, type of the Only Begotten

Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? James 2:21

Abraham offering his only covenant son Isaac on the altar is a similitude of Heavenly Father offering His Only Begotten Son. James uses it to show faith proven by obedience.
