Lawgiver — the one who gives the law and judges by it

There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another? James 4:12

Only one Lawgiver has the right to judge and the power to save. In Isaiah the LORD (Jehovah) is 'our lawgiver' who 'will save us', and in the Doctrine and Covenants Jesus Christ says, 'I am your lawgiver.'
