Jeremiah 12

Lord of the ruined vineyard

I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies. Jeremiah 12:7–10

Jehovah speaks with personal grief about His vineyard, Israel, which faithless shepherds have trampled. Jesus told a parable of wicked husbandmen who abused the Lord's vineyard and killed His Son.

Jehovah who returns with compassion

And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land. Jeremiah 12:15–16

After judgment, Jehovah promises to return with compassion, gather His people home, and build even outsiders among His people if they take His name. That is the pattern of Christ's gathering of Israel and adoption of the Gentiles.
