Jehovah

And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. Joshua 2:9–11

A Canaanite woman bears testimony of Jehovah, the premortal Christ, as the one true God over heaven and earth. Her faith, not her birth or her past, is what saves her and her family.

Rahab's scarlet cord

Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father’s household, home unto thee. Joshua 2:18–21

Everyone inside the house marked by the scarlet line is saved when judgment falls on the city, just as Israel was spared under the Passover blood. Christians have taught from the earliest days that the scarlet cord stands for the blood of Christ, which shelters all who stay with Him. Rahab, the woman who tied it, became an ancestress of Jesus.
