And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour. Joshua 6:2
Jehovah speaks of the victory as already given, before Israel has taken a single step around the walls. The battle is His, and Joshua's part is to obey.

And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them. Joshua 6:8–11
The priests walk 'before the LORD' while walking before the ark — the text treats the ark as His very presence. The city falls not by Israel's strength but because the Lord is in the middle of His people, as Christ is at the center of His church.

And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times. Joshua 6:15–20
Seven trumpets sound, and at the seventh a proud city falls and the Lord's people walk in. John saw seven trumpets in the last days, and at the seventh the kingdoms of the world become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ. This is a soft echo, not a stated type.

Joshua (Yehoshua) — Jehovah is salvation; the same name as Jesus
But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot’s house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her. Joshua 6:22–25
When the city is destroyed, the man whose name means 'Jehovah saves' brings the repentant outsider and her whole family out alive, and she dwells in Israel afterward. Rahab became an ancestress of Jesus — a sign that His salvation reaches every people.
