Jehovah

But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the LORD, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel. Judges 14:4

Even through Samson's flawed choices, Jehovah — the premortal Christ — is quietly working out Israel's deliverance. The narrator tells us what the people in the story could not see.

Sweetness out of the strong (Samson's riddle)

And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion. Judges 14:8–14

Christian teachers have long read this riddle as a picture of Christ: what devours is itself overcome, and out of the conquered 'eater' comes sweetness and food for others. Readers in that tradition differ over whether the lion stands for death and the devil or for Christ Himself, which is why this is kept as a soft echo and not as a type.
