Leviticus 24

Light of the World

Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually. Leviticus 24:2–4

Beaten olive oil kept the sanctuary's light burning without end. Jesus is the Light of the World whose light never goes out, and He asks His people to hold Him up as their light.

Bread of Life

And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake. Leviticus 24:5–9

Twelve loaves, one for each tribe, lay always before the LORD and were eaten in the holy place. Jesus is the Bread of Life, and Latter-day Saints renew covenants weekly by partaking of bread in His name.

Jehovah

Jehovah — "the Name" (ha-Shem), the sacred covenant name

And the Israelitish woman’s son blasphemed the name of the Lord, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:) Leviticus 24:11–16

"The name" that must never be blasphemed is Jehovah, the name of the premortal Christ. Ironically, Jesus Himself was later accused of blasphemy under this law when He declared who He is.

Jehovah

Jehovah gave the law of equal justice. As the mortal and risen Christ He quoted this same law and replaced it with the higher law of turning the other cheek, because He was the One who gave it.
