Leviticus 7

Trespass (guilt) offering

Likewise this is the law of the trespass offering: it is most holy. Leviticus 7:1–7

The trespass offering is called most holy and it makes atonement. Isaiah foresaw the Messiah making his soul this kind of offering.

Peace offering eaten in thanksgiving

And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he shall offer unto the LORD. Leviticus 7:11–15

The peace offering was the one sacrifice the worshipper shared in eating, a thankful meal of fellowship with God. Paul compares this to partaking of Christ's body and blood in the sacrament.

Partaking worthily

And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings be eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed unto him that offereth it: it shall be an abomination, and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his iniquity. Leviticus 7:18–21

Eating the holy offering wrongly or while unclean made it unacceptable and was a serious offense. The Savior gave the same warning about partaking of His flesh and blood in the sacrament unworthily.

Jehovah, giver of the law

Jehovah — the LORD, the eternal I AM

This is the law of the burnt offering, of the meat offering, and of the sin offering, and of the trespass offering, and of the consecrations, and of the sacrifice of the peace offerings; Leviticus 7:37–38

The whole system of offerings was commanded by Jehovah at Sinai. He is Jesus Christ, and Abinadi taught that all these performances were types of things to come.
