The kingdom preached after the forerunner

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. Luke 16:16–17

The law and the prophets pointed forward until John the Baptist, the forerunner; now, with Jesus, the kingdom itself is preached. Not one tittle of the law fails, because every part of it is fulfilled in Him.

Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. Luke 16:29–31

Moses and the prophets testify of Christ, and those who will not hear them will not be persuaded even by a resurrection. Jesus is quietly foretelling His own rising and the unbelief that would meet it.
