Christ — the Anointed One (Greek for Messiah)
For behold, their wars are exceedingly fierce among themselves; and because of their hatred they put to death every Nephite that will not deny the Christ. Moroni 1:2–3
The Lamanites killed every Nephite who would not deny Christ, and Moroni chose to live as a hunted wanderer rather than deny Him. His whole final book begins as a witness that Christ is worth more than life.
