Spoken of Israel's afflictions, but the image of furrows plowed on the back is widely read by Christians as an echo of the scourging of Jesus, who gave His back to the smiters (Isaiah 50:6).
Jehovah — the premortal Jesus Christ, the covenant God of Israel
The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked. Psalms 129:4–8
Jehovah, the premortal Christ, is the righteous deliverer who cuts Israel free, and blessings are given in His name.
